Port of Liverpool boosts mobile harbour crane fleet
THE Port of Liverpool has increased its fleet of mobile cranes to eight with the arrival of a new Liebherr unit with an 82-tonne capability. The crane will become fully operational and enter service later this month.
Liebherr has launched is new 85 EC-B 5 FR.tronic flat top tower crane at the 2011 Smopyc trade fair in Zaragoza. Maximum load capacity is 5000 kg with1300 kg at the jib end and a maximum working radius of 50 metres. All loads are lifted in the double-reeved mode.
World’s largest offshore mast crane installed
Huisman has installed the world’s largest offshore mast crane onboard the heavy lift ship Seven Borealis, says the company. The Netherlands-based lifting, drilling and subsea specialist said the four-day installation of the 5,000 tonne lifting capacity crane was its heaviest and most complex project to date.
Liebherr will launch the 85 EC-B 5 FR.tronic flat top city crane at the SMOPyC exhibition in Spain next week. The crane has a 5 tonne load capacity and can lift 1.3 tonnes at the jib end, up to a maximum working radius of 50 m. All loads are lifted in double-reeve mode
Liebherr has expanded its range of mobile harbour cranes with the new model LHM 420 to be shown at TOC Europe 2011. The new model – which succeeds the LHM 400 and slots between the LHM 550 and LHM 280 – will be available in two variants with maximum lifting capacities of 84 and 124 tonnes.
New LCL 310 and LCL 280 tower cranes from Linden Comansa
Linden Comansa has introduced two new models of luffing-jib cranes. The company says the new models will be available by the end of April. These new cranes, LCL 310 and LCL 280, altogether with the LCL 190 presented last year in Bauma, form the new family of luffing-jib cranes from Linden Comansa, which will be completed this summer with the launch of a fourth model, the LCL 165.
The largest machine on display t bC India is likely to be Liebherr’s 600 tonne capacity LR 1600/2 crawler crane, originally launched at ConExpo 2008. The machine at the show has been bought by Shethia Erectors & Material Handlers Limited, which is one of Liebherr’s largest customers, operating a fleet of350-, 400- and 600- tonne crawlers and all-terrain cranes up to 400 tonnes.
A Palfinger marine crane installed on one of the largest Oasis class ships is being used to transport and plant trees. The Allure of the Seas is the second and latest ship in the Oasis class with 16 decks, more than 5,400 passengers and 2,100 crew. With a length of 361 metres it is the world’s biggest cruise vessel and the installed Palfinger PK 150002 marine crane is being used for transporting and planting trees onboard the ocean giant.
