The construction site of a coal fired power station in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, is home to around 20 Liebherr tower cranes.
On the job in Hamm-Uentrop are cranes in the EC-B, EC-H, EC-HM, K and TT series of top slewing, bottom slewing and crawler mounted, respectively, tower cranes.
Tallest is the 280 EC-H 12 Litronic erected on a stationary 500 HC undercarriage with a track width of 10 m. It has a combination of 500 HC and 256 HC tower sections and will reach a final hook height of 188 m. Anchor cables on two levels secure it to the ground and it has a jib folding mechanism for disassembly to allow it to pass down inside the cooling tower.
Project completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2010.
