A Rough Terrain crane working at a marina at Monmouth Beach – south of New York City in New Jersey overturned yesterday.
The crane was working from a barge with outriggers fully extended and set and working over the side, when it went over, possibly due to a side loading or overload, no one was injured in the incident.

The crane remained on the barge with the boom hitting the dock and buckling, it had been working on refurbishment work at the marina.
Vertikal Comment
Working with mobile cranes on barges carries numerous additional risks and while the option is ideal for many waterside applications it does need extra planning and caution which all too often does not happen.
