PM Group, an Italian manufacturer of truck-mounted hydraulic cranes, has launched a new range of cranes.
The new products will be lighter and will have an improved weight to load capacity by using new materials and high strength steel, the company said.
The first to be released is the new compact PM 100 SP series. The octagonal profile boom sections give the crane higher load capacity, the company said. Features include a rotation system and radio-controlled outriggers. There is also an MCS system for safety during stabilisation, a company spokesperson added. The crane has a maximum horizontal outreach of 33.55 metres and a maximum vertical outreach of 37.35 m.
On display is a PM 100 crane configured with eight extensions. The crane is mounted on a truck with a 5 tonne capacity winch and has a 20.5 metre horizontal reach and a 24.5 metre vertical outreach. The maximum lifting moment in this configuration is 79.7 tonnes.
Another new addition also being exhibitied is the PM 30.5 SP series from the 30.5 tonne medium capacity crane range. Features of the crane include increased freedom of movement, PM said.
Speaking on the range of new products, Luigi Fucili, managing director of PM, said, “Within the next two years, PM will have redesigned and built its entire hydraulic crane range, with the introduction of a more specific product range, including a crane with a load capacity of more than 100 metre tonnes.”
“Next in development will be a 150 tonne hydraulic crane, which will be available at the end of the year. By the end of 2014 capacity could increase to more than 200 tonnes,” added Giovanni Tacconi, PM sales director.
