The state has shut down three construction tower cranes — two in Seattle and one in Renton — because of safety concerns, the state Department of Labor & Industries said Thursday.
All three cranes have electrical problems, and the two in Seattle have not been certified for structural integrity, the department said. Had a new state safety law been in effect, the cranes probably wouldn’t have been allowed to be erected. The law takes effect Jan. 1, 2010.
