“The highest one I ever had to climb from the ground was 260 feet. It was a 15-minute climb,” Weare says.
A resident of Caledonia, N.S., Weare has been operating tower cranes since 1975. In that time, he’s been a lot of places and witnessed many changes in the business.
“One of the biggest things on the job site is you have to be as one unit. I would have to say construction stress is something that is very common. If you get mad and angry, the best thing you can do one minute later is to laugh about it and forget it. If you don’t, you’ll never be happy and you’re not going to do well.”
