Bishop Lifting Products (BLP), Houston, Texas, is now printing QR codes on its synthetic sling tags. The QR code is a 2-D barcode that can be scanned by a smart phone’s camera. Users can simply hold smart phones or devices up to the code and once scanned, the device will take users directly to the company’s website, www.lifting.com, where they can find inspection warning signs, capacity charts, and contact information.
In other news, BLP announced the opening of a new regional office in Oklahoma City, Okla. “Our Oklahoma City office will provide rigging solutions and local MaxiRider support to businesses in the region,” said Jeff Bishop, president of Bishop Lifting Products.
The Oklahoma City office will stock Crosby products and will fabricate all types of slings, as well as Slingmax high performance slings. The location is equipped with a 350,000-pound proof testing machine, laser tag etching machine for making sling tags, a pouring tower for fabricating mast raising lines, and a 20,000-pound wire rope spooling machine.
This is the third new branch for Bishop Lifting Products in the past year.
