A crane has collapsed on a power plant construction project in the Russian city of Troitsk in the Ural Mountains close to the border with Kazakhstan.
The type of crane has not been specified, but its failure has killed five Chinese nationals and injured a further five. Those injured are thought to be employed by Harbin Electric, Tianlangsing and other Chinese companies that are supplying the boilers, steam turbines and generators for the 660,000kW extension to the Troitsk plant.
The ministry for emergencies said that four of the five died immediately, while the fifth died in the hospital.
