A truck driver died this morning after being hit by a piece of port equipment at the North Charleston Terminal, the S.C. State Ports Authority said in a statement.
Police are withholding identity of the man until his family can be notified.
The accident apparently happened as the driver was walking through the terminal’s storage yard. He was struck by a rubber-tired gantry crane around 11 a.m., SPA spokesman Byron Miller said.
