The tower crane is an important link in the construction process. Even though the crane operator is seated in a cabin high up in the sky, he is still not able to view his entire working area. The visibility problem gets even worse as construction progresses and starts to increasingly obstruct the operator’s view.
The load view camera provides images of the working area and is fitted on the boom of the trolley; it is positioned in such a way that it looks vertically downwards on to the top of the hook. The monitor in the cabin ensures that the crane operator can always see every position of the hook whilst hoisting.
The camera allows the crane operator to take immediate action and, if necessary, immediately verify the instructions from the contact person on the ground. Along with increased safety and improved working conditions, the camera systems also improve efficiency as the crane operator is able to move the load to the proper location with fewer instructions from the contact person on the ground.
It is becoming increasingly necessary on large building sites that have various types of cranes working to have visibility on the rear boom. The load view monitor can be used simultaneously with a back reach camera. With just one touch of a button, the operator is able to switch between both cameras.
