Man Injured In Crane Accident

Man injured after crane tips in Nottingham
A man was injured in Gedling, Nottingham yesterday after a crane lifting a hot tub off the back of a delivery truck and into position tipped. The 20 year old man – who was helping deliver the hot tub – was trapped against the wall of a bungalow while the crane boom landed on the bungalow roof and the hot tub landed in the garden.
Another metro crane accident in India
The 12 tonne Hydra crane built by ACE, reportedly lifting a two tonne concrete pile, when the ground under its front wheels subsided causing it to tip over sideways with the three section boom dropping across the busy road. Crane Operator’s License Is Suspended
Investigators said Mr. Cosban’s lapse — he did not lower the boom as far as it could go — contributed to the accident but might not have been the sole cause. They said that they were looking into whether mechanical failure was a factor and that they might issue further citations.
In that accident, a 24-year-old, cheaply refurbished, Lomma-owned crane snapped in two, sending the crane’s boom, engine and cab plummeting 20 stories with its operator trapped inside.
