In Oklahoma, wind turbines are now about as prevalent as old oil derricks were in days gone by. Much easier on the eyes, the sleek, white turbines punctuate the horizon and provide clean electricity for thousands of homes and businesses. Wind farms have been or are being built throughout Oklahoma, especially on prairie land west and north of Oklahoma City.

The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) announced that it has been awarded accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for two of its newest certification programs.
A crane operator was arrested in Middletown Connecticut last Wednesday for operating without a license.

Truck crane, tipped over rearwards

Three men were rescued from a truck crane after the it tipped over rearwards, leaving the men stranded in the carrier cab around eight metres or more off the ground.

TOWER CRANE COLLAPSE CAUSES EVACUATION

It has been reported that on Christmas Eve a tower crane was left in a precarious position and nearby flats evacuated in Allard Way, Saffron Walden, Essex after part of the crane collapsed.
Oilfield services company 5J Trucking, used its two new Sany America crawler cranes to lift a 90,000 pound (41 tonne) oil derrick.
