Three rail-mounted cranes manufactured by German manufacturer Kirow have been shipped from the Wallmann Terminal in Hamburg to a Chinese customer by project forwarder Kühne + Nagel onboard multipurpose vessel Rickmers Jakarta. The shipment is bound for Xingang, China, where it is scheduled to arrive in late November
New Cranes
German based crane rental company Knaack-Krane has taken delivery of two new 600 tonne Liebherr LR 1600/2 crawler cranes. The first unit arrived in March, while the second has now also been delivered. Both cranes have gone to work erecting wind turbines.
Caterpillar and Solimec have confirmed their plan to jointly develop a range of foundation cranes. The agreement follows the launch at Bauma of the 65 tonne Soilmec SC-65 lattice boomed crawler crane which was designed and built in collaboration with CAT.
Altec has developed a tilt cab option for all of its riding seat crane models. The new cab allows the operator to adjust the angle of the cab from 0 degrees to 20 degrees above horizontal, with hydraulic power, the company said.
The new models in the compact telescopic series include the PC 1500, PC 2700 and PC 3800. This series has been completely redesigned, the company said, and the new models offer up to 15% increase in lifting moment and up to 25% decrease in dead weight.
Japanese crane manufacturer Kobelco Cranes will build crawler cranes in India.

The new 200 tonne Liebherr is the 12th crane in the fleet, which also includes an LTM 1030, LTM 1055, LTM 1060, and a LTM 1100. The expanding fleet also includes truck mounted hydraulic cranes, city class cranes and specialised mini crawler cranes.

Based on the concept of the 71 K model, the new fast-erecting 81 K lifts loads more than 25% higher at the end of the jib, Liebherr said. The 6t capacity crane has a maximum hook height of 40.4m and 55m at a 30˚ jib angle.
