Liebherr is hosting a series of customer days this week at which one of the more amazing demonstrations it has in store is an ingenious multiple crawler crane lift.
The company’s massive 3,000 to 3,750 tonne LR13000 crawler crane – with Power boom is lifting a 1,350 tonne LR11350, which in turn is lifting a 350 tonne LR1350 which has a ‘little’ 100 tonne LTR1100 on the hook, and for good measure even it has its own load, which includes a scale model crane.
The whole thing is fully balanced thanks to meticulous planning and an in depth understanding of each crane’s centre of gravity and balance point.
One assumes of course that only the big crane will be manned! otherwise that would be lifting people for fun.
Truly an impressive one off.
